Does there actually have to be the word "snow" in the name?
Chinook - a warm western wind, in Canada, that melts the snow.
Klister - soft wax for cross country skiing (xc ski) in very warm snow. (brown klister is what we xc ski people call dog poop on the trail.)
Stride - xc ski term
Glide - xc ski term
Kick - xc ski term
Igloo
Quinze - similar to above but made by piling snow up then digging a hole into the pile. A big enough hole to sleep in.
Polar
Aurora and Borealis - as in northern lights, seen most easily and brightly in northern latitudes though not directly related to snow.
I wonder if there is an Inuit dictionary on the web? I've heard it said that the Innu have over 300 words to describe snow.
