- By Star [in] Date 08.01.06 18:10 UTC
looking for suggestions for pups names that are 'snow orientated>
Decided on theme as they arrived during the snow fall. One little girl arrived when Mum went out to wee so we called her 'Snowdrop' (LOL)
Other suggestions so far Snow queen, snowball, snowstorm, snow crystal, snow maiden, snowman, let it snow, snowflake, snow is falling,
Any ideas greatly appreciated :)

my boys litter were all snow (dont know why cos they are irish setters born in october  ) he is Snow Leopard, others were Snow Patrol, Snow Bunting, snowy owl - I cant remember the rest.  When the breeder said can you think of any "snow" names my OH turned round and said "yellow snow" :o

Does there actually have to be the word "snow" in the name?

Chinook - a warm western wind, in Canada, that melts the snow.
Klister - soft wax for cross country skiing (xc ski) in very warm snow.  (brown klister is what we xc ski people call dog poop on the trail.)
Stride - xc ski term
Glide - xc ski term
Kick - xc ski term
Igloo
Quinze - similar to above but made by piling snow up then digging a hole into the pile.  A big enough hole to sleep in.
Polar
Aurora and Borealis - as in northern lights, seen most easily and brightly in northern latitudes though not directly related to snow.

I wonder if there is an Inuit dictionary on the web?  I've heard it said that the Innu have over 300 words to describe snow.

How about Edelweiss? You know the words of the song.......'Blossom of snow may you bloom and grow'
