A lot :D

No way of telling - it depends on the individual firm - whether they are a small local firm or a big one. Also what the case is. They charge for everything - if you ring them, they will charge per/hour for your call. If they write a letter - if they get your file out and look at it etc etc. The only way is to go to a firm and ask them for an estimate :)

Depends upon where you live and also what you need solicitors for.   Generally, outside London, where they charge on a time basis, this is based on hourly fees of between £100.00-£150.00 + VAT depending on the seniority and experience of the Solicitor/ fee earner involved and the complexity, urgency and importance of the work, in which case the estimate will based on a specified number of hours of work and, where appropriate, a specified precedent fee for using their precedents. Charges then include advising you, attending to you by telephone and in person, dealing with documents, correspondence etc.

Hope that is some help.

You can usually get a free 1/2 hour to ask a few questions.  Although it does depend on the case.  You are best off looking on the internet etc. you can normally find what the solicitor will charge you for.!
