No way of telling - it depends on the individual firm - whether they are a small local firm or a big one. Also what the case is. They charge for everything - if you ring them, they will charge per/hour for your call. If they write a letter - if they get your file out and look at it etc etc. The only way is to go to a firm and ask them for an estimate :)

Depends upon where you live and also what you need solicitors for. Generally, outside London, where they charge on a time basis, this is based on hourly fees of between £100.00-£150.00 + VAT depending on the seniority and experience of the Solicitor/ fee earner involved and the complexity, urgency and importance of the work, in which case the estimate will based on a specified number of hours of work and, where appropriate, a specified precedent fee for using their precedents. Charges then include advising you, attending to you by telephone and in person, dealing with documents, correspondence etc.
