Any puppy classes in Blackpool, Cleveleys or Fleetwood - possibly Preston, Leyland, Blackburn if a good one?

Got two numbers from our vet - the nearest one has problems with the hall currently, and can't get an answer from the other yet.

Ideally, I'd like a GSD club, and a general class - so he and I can get breed specific info, and general for more socialising with a wider range of people and animals.

I am quite keen on taking him further with either obedience, agility, tracking, or similar when he is old enough, so a group with more advanced training than just the basics and GCDS preferred - but it will of course be a while before he's beyond the basics.

Recommendations?

thanks in advance,

Matt

Hi. I have just joined one in Goosnargh, Preston ran by Deborah Gornall. Only been to one class so far but she is very nice and seems very good.

Well after trying a few local clubs, and seeing a couple of seriously poor clubs, we went along to this class this evening, and signed up for the next course.

So thanks for the suggestion.  :)

Thats good! I've only been to one class......paid for a course and haven't been back because I've had back trouble and we've just sold the house and I'm very stressed!!! Must email Deborah to explain and hopefully book onto the next course so I might see you there.

House moving is pretty stressful by itself, so add in a little backache and I think anyone would be very stressed!

We sat through the puppy class - she spent a little time with each dog, on the sits and walking to heel, had a quick chat about food, and introduced everyone to a once nightmare collie, then let everyone have a few goes with an agility tunnel, then set everyone some homework!  :)

I liked the fact it had set start and end dates - every other class we've seen has been a rolling start.

So we've found two decent looking classes now.  Of course Eric the GSD is the most laid back puppy I've ever known, so may not need all this effort to socialise him!

The next course starts on the 24th.

Hi - Have a look at www.apdt.co.uk  for a list of positive reinforcement trainers all over the UK.

The only one reasonably near on that site is the lady luvhandles mentions!

So unless I can find one in and around Blackpool I'll give this a try.

thanks

Oh perfect - that's dead handy for me!  Walking distance when he's a little older.

Thanks!
