Hi all, I am a 7 week old Boxer girl called Boo!! (when i'm old enough i am going to deedpoll to change it). I still live with my mum, 4 sisters and my brother but in 9 days i will be going to my new home. My new mum and dad seem great, they come and visit us a lot and ask loads of questions about me, they say they have everything ready for me, a crate, a nice warm cozy bed, toys, my fave puppy food, lots of love and even some little mats for me to do my toilet on. I know they have had a Boxer before but that was a long time ago, (about 16 years since she was a puppy like me) so i thought if i introduced myself and my new family all you very nice and knowledgable people out there might be able to give them a few good tips (just incase they have forgotten anything i might need)
                                              Love and licks.

Tell them not to use "little mats for you to do your toilet on". Otherwise you'll be widdling and leaving other little "gift packages" in the house (and most probably on the carpets) for absolutely ages. In fact you'll need housetraining twice! Encourage them to take you out into the garden at least once every 30 minutes, after every meal, every sleep, in the middle of the night. Oh and probably more often in the evening when you are over-excited and over-tired!

Hi Sarstaff, My little paws are just key size at the min, got a funny feeling that i will soon be pressing all of them at once tho coz my mum got very big paws. Not sure what i'd like to be called, suppose its better than 'curtains' which is what my breeding m+d called me. My friends have just got a Staffy (18 weeks now, 'Freddy') he is a little star:cool:

Hi Roz, Thanx for that, as i said it has been a long time and these so called 'training pads' where not available then. The man at the pet shop gave us them for free (guess we doubled his weeks takings when we stormed his shop)

Hi Boo - welcome to you and your new mum and dad to champdogs.

Oh boy, I can still remember our Dylan when he was your age (he's now 8 months and weighing in at 56 lbs ! )  He has a big brother called Rufus (he's a 4 yr old springer cross) and they both play really well together.  I wouldn't be without either of them :)

Boxers really are gorgeous dogs, quick to learn, easy to train - we have a little windchime on the back door and we taught him to ring it when he needs to go out, by the time he was about 14 weeks he was ringing it on his own asking to go to the toilet - of course now he rings it with gusto when he wants out, the kitchen door open, the kids downstairs, me on the sofa gving him cuddles, when he wants to play...... :D  Currently he's asleep with 'Uncle' Rufus on the floor next to me waiting for me to say 'bedtime' so that he can beat me upstairs and get on the bed before me

Good luck with him, we're all here for you if ever you have a problem with your new mum and dad - like they haven't got you enough treats :D

Hi Boo

I'm the human grandma to Marley, Ricky and Bella who have all just gone to their new mummy and daddy's.  Ricky has been a big boy and has been to the vets today and his new vet says that he is very healthy.  Marley went to his new house just over an hour ago and his new mummy and daddy are so pleased with him.  I think that we are going to have some new friends for many years to come and I'll get to see Marley quite often and even Ricky, even though he does live a long way away.

Roxy is with us for another week and a half until her owners come back from Australia.

I hope that your family will love you as much as your first human dparents do.

Good luck in your new home.

Diane

Hi Boxer Mum, Thanx for the welcome. 8 months and 56 lbs, thats one big boy! We too have a english springer, 15 years now he's not as springer as he was, we used to do a lot of shooting together, he will not live in the house, prefers his own domain (a £500 kennel in the back yard) when he comes in he just waits by the door till he is let out. We agree, Boxers are gorgeous and clever but how did you manage the windchime thing?? (think we're gonna have a go at that). Woofs and wags to Dylan and Rufus.

Hi Perrodeagua,
We were only saying to our breeders the other day it must be so hard to let them go, even if your sure its to a very good home, they are so adorable all curled up together. We will sure keep in contact with all our new friends even if t is a 100+ mile round trip. At least you have another week and a half with Roxy:cool:

Hi Polly_45,
Thanx for the advise, will defo go for the regular vistits to the back yard seems to make much better sense. Spoilt isn't the word as she already has us curled around her tiny little fingers. We will ofcourse keep you all upto date on the progess of both Boo and ourselves. We cant wait!!

Hi Boo i am the human mummy to three adorable hum dogs like yourself....yes you have gathered three boxer babes...i have two girls and a boy....my youngest is almost 19mth old....tell your new mummy and daddy to start letting you out in their back garden every time you have had a nap..something to eat and after having a play..this way you wont need the pads...as i think these pads can encourage you to wee wee in doors...Your new human owners sound very nice and by the sounds of it you are going to get spoilt rotten...(but you being a boxer) will know how to wrap these humans round your little finger:rolleyes:...please keep us all informed on how you are doing....I do love boxer babes...licks n dribbles to youxxx
