Happy New Year to all. We support a wildlife rehabilitation centre near us in Ontario Canada and this car-kit suggestion came with some material they sent in the mail. Even though it is meant for wildlife in Canada I thought it could be applied to other animals (dogs and cats especially) in other places. I know from other posts that many people here have readily offered assistance to animals in distress so thought you might like this.
Rescue Car-Kit Supplies Ventilated carboard box.
Sheet, towel and pillowcase for confinement.
Goggles or protective eyeware for your protection.
Work gloves and rubber gloves for your protection.
Shovel, broom for turtles.
Pool liner or rubber mat for Porcupines.
Plastic bags for disposal.
Animals NOT To HandleSnapping Turtles, Racoons, Skunks, Foxes, Coyotes, Great Blue Herons, Large birds of prey (hawks, owls) Bats.
PLease feel free to add to the list as suits your area. For my area I think I would add Canada Geese to the Do Not Handle list. And I think that would have to be a pretty sturdy cardboard box.
