Hi, we took Tatty out in our car today to go to a market for walkabout (we were going carry her) - market not on!...so we just went for a walk.
Then when driving home someone hit the back of our car after we stopped for a zebra crossing! Our car is a zafia so quite high but Tatty was in the back in her crate - she seems fine but she was a bit shaken as we all were!
Think we will stay in for rest of the day!
Oh no.....Poor you :-( Sending {{{hugs}}} to you & Tatty :-)

Oh Dear! I am glad she was not hurt and I'm sure she will forget about it sooner than you :). I must admit I do use a crate in the bootwell of my car but, although probably helpfull in a minor shunt, none of the crates are built to any registered standard to make them likely to withstand a bad accident and of course this area of the car is built as a crumple zone designed to take the force out of any impact before reaching the passenger zone so you might want to consider securing the cage on the back seat if that is at all practical for you.

Poor Tatty and poor you! I can never decide which is best - in our Micra the dogs are secured on the back seat with car harnesses, and in the Galaxy they are in crates in the boot.
We have the children in the back then had Tatty in the 'boot'. I am pleased she was in the crate as other wise she would of gone flying!
It helped that we have a towbar so that saved the back a bit.
You'll be surprised re the towbar the damage could be more than you think.
As the tow bar is attached to the underneath of the car.
I'd get it checked by a garage up on ramps etc.
Oh thats not good!...it is being picked up tonight, arranged by insurance, as the tailgate wont shut so the car is deemed 'unsecured'
