Hi, Just a query for a friend with a new puppy. She is after a folding dog gate that can be pushed/stored to one side and pulled out when needed. She wants to stop the dogs from going upstairs but doesn't want a normal gate as they can be a little awkard. Any suggestions on where she can get one from??
Thanks and happy new year:cool:

If it's not a big breed, the many designs of baby gates you can buy might be the answer. The dog gate I have on the stairs is a pain in the behind when you are carrying anything up or down, but my dog would have easily got over a standard height baby gate when he was about 4 months old.

Never heard of a folding dog gate  There may be one, but otherwise I got a great dog gate from Argos, you do not need to screw it into the wall, door or banister, it can be stuck on at the top and then screwed in or out to fit, you can very easily remove it again in seconds and pop it back when needed. They are my favourite doggy accessory and solve a multitude of would be problems. :-D

We've got the Argos one - had it 3 + years. It's very good and withstands two excited, medium-sized dogs jumping up at it :D

I don't think DOG gates like that exists, but baby gates do. Anything but a small puppy would be able to break through though! Here is one:

(If the URL doesn't work, go to http://www.mothercare.com and look for safety equipment, chose gates and it is the white folding one for £49.99 made by Kiddyguard.

Thanks Goldmalia, They are patterdale terriers so they're not huge dogs but I think Fly would destroy in minutes. Nevertheless I shall pass on the link and info.. I just love the wealth of knowledge stored within the champdogs members. Its so great.. Happy new year.

Yes i have the argos dog gate which does the job fantastically with 2 hyper cavs but she said she used to know someone who had one and I can see her point about some of the gates being restrictive (I use it as an excuse to get hubby to bring washing up/downstairs :) ).
