I've done it on my desktop and then onto daughters laptop, the laptop did keep forgeting the WEP key number but it seems to have sorted it self out now.Are you up and running wireless on the desktop or having problems with that too?

My sister bought a laptop yesterday and couldn't get hers working, ends up there is a small button just on the front of the underside of the computer which she has to press each time she switches the computer on.

Hers is a Toshiba, mine is a Sony and I have a slide over switch to switch mine on!

What model and make is yours?
- By Anwen [gb] Date 30.12.05 12:29 UTC
Ha! I've got a Toshiba too - my microscopic little tiny button is on the front - wasted hours before I found it! You don't have to switch it on every time - you can configure things, so it comes on automatically at startup - don't ask me how - it's at least a week ago & I've forgotten how you do it
As a last resort - read the instructions :D

My dad's just informed me that he's already bought one today.  I am so jealous as I really can't afford one, though I notice DELL have a pay later service :d
- By liberty Date 30.12.05 16:58 UTC
Dell do indeed have a pay later facility..........but beware their interest rates are frightening:eek:

If you can ever get hold of Dell!!! 3 hours and a long call to a foreign call centre and still no nearer a laptop!!! We've given up now and bought a Goodmans for £600, which is a far cry from the 1700 I spent on me Viao!!! LOL

Guess PC WORLD must be the 'experts' to avoid then??!!! LOL  Not the first time I've heard of them cocking it up, mainly what used to be YTS staff and no-one has any serious computer skills that work there??? (She said as she waited for things to fly through the air at her as she ducked behind her very expensive laptop!!)

I bought my first computer from PC world. When I got it home it came without the start up discs so I arranged to pick them up. When I went back (40 miles away) they denied all knowledge. The guy who origionally sold me the computer recognised me as I walked in but when he was asked about the discs he said he didnt remember selling me the computer! I would never buy from them again!!

I thought the router connected to pc/laptop then pc worked through it not linked to program software
When you tried to install it did you connect it via a cable first or try to set it up wireless ?
