Just wondering if anyone knows of a legal regulator for clothing eg like ofwat is for water.... to check standards etc dont know if you can help.. or if anyone knows if it would be the BSI (ppl who do kitemark and CE mark)

I'm happy to be corrected but I honestly don't think so, Obie. Although under the Sale of Goods Act merchandise has to be of "merchantable quality" which means it isn't expected to fall apart the first time you wear something. The kitemark relates only to products that are BSI kitemarked but if you've got a particular problem that a retailer isn't interested in putting right then reporting them to your local Trading Standards is the next step to take.
Naaa nothing like that.... for my consumer law assignment for uni, got to include legal/regulatory system (bit confused)

haha just realise its probably trading standards who ARE the regulatory system....
