Perhaps you would care to read a few peoples thoughts on these
collars before popping the batteries in. If you do a search on electric shock collars (because that is what they are) you will find plenty more to mull over :)

Is it the electronic one the same as mine? As there are a few different collars made by petsafe.I take it you have one? or want one? Let me know what the situation is & I'll explain. Dani

Apart from the obvious cruelty aspect of zapping dogs with electricity it didn't actually work in your case did it Danni, you still had to rehome the dog didn't you? So not a great advert for these methods. Perhaps Welshie would be better advised to either seek out a trainer that can help them train their dog or rehome it to someone who can handle it without recourse to such methods.

LOOK I was just replying to the persons msg. Wouldn't want to be rude would I ??!!! And I never said the result was amazing for my dog, but I know of many people who have used them with sucess. The main reason I had it was for sheep chasing. Trust me if you live on bodmin moor you need it!! & for your information if you read my post correctly. My dog was rehomed due to seperation anxiety, not his general behaviour, which I may add was perfect by the time he was rehomed. So get your facts right before you start critising me!!!:

I see sheep all around me, trust
me zapping you dog with electricity is not the only way you can control a dog near sheep. I would never let my dog off her lead in the same area as sheep even though she is totally trustworthy with them because I would never like the farmer to missunderstand the level of control I had.
Even if there are people who have used them with success doesn't make them any less cruel or unnecessary in my eyes. I hope Welshie reads all the other posts and see I am not alone in my feelings about these contraptions and thinks twice about using it.

SSSoooooo sorry - I thought it was dartmoor as we live on dartmoor & we are not far from liskeard!
Any way, I do not like being called an idiot, I have not slated you for electricuting your dog, rehoming your dog & trying to buy a new one, breeding a dog with a dodgy temperment etc so please do not call people

my friends are between lisky & launcseton,& they are near abit of bodmin. i know cos they took me in terrential rain & wind! there was alot of sheep,

Not wishing to get into an argument but actually living somewhere SURROUNDED by sheep I can assure you that the very last thing you need is one of these inhumane devices!
A lead, on the other hand, can work wonders to reassure farmers and keep one's dog under control!

In another thread you said you used because you "had a weimeraner who was mouthy at other dogs". But whatever, those things are cruel.
