hi, my bitch is on day 66 today and still no puppy, we only managed 1 mating so we know the definate due date.  I cant see or feel the puppy today and wondered if it is moving into the birth canal would i still be able to?  Her temp is 99 today and she has refused her breakfast and her dinner.  I rang the vets this morning and they said take her in tomorrow if there hasnt been any joy.  Any advice would be grateful, thanks, Rachel.

well its a little higher then yesterday but she isnt eating so that might be something but personally myself i have never had a bitch stop eaating they might reject one meal but then a couple of hours later have one is she panting shivering digging in her whelping box i always look at the dogs eyes dogs show alot of emotion in their eyes and i find with my bitches they appear to have distant look like they are sitting in front of you but their mind is miles away is she staring at her rear end alot even if she isnt looking directly at her vulva but just turning her head back and looking at her tail if your vet has told you to wait then i guess wait but i would never have i would have had just a checkup and get the vets advice

is she having a larger litter or only 1 or 2 because ive only every had bitches have 5 or more and when she is in labour i can feel puppy movements the whole time it was how i was able to tell she still had one more to go when she recently had her nine pups because after the 8th had been expelled i could still feel one moving and then half hour later out it came

you could try helping things along a little put her on her lead and walk her around the backyard a bit but not for to long the walking can sometimes speed things up

you must feel very anxious and nervous any bitches i have bred before tend to go a little early so the week before they are due i am constantly checking my bitches
