OK, I know it's nearly christmas time and we (most of us apart from the Bah Humbug clan LOL) are getting ready for the festivities but on reading some posts not just on here but on other forums I thought up a quick christmas song as a timely reminder to new owners when buying a pup for your son / daughter at christmas time.

The pup he was dumped in a box by the gates
Of the rehoming centre for other mistakes
While the rain it came down and soaked his poor head
And the pup how he cried and he waited ... for his fate

Bow wow wow" which means don't buy me....at christmas time !

A young pup he shivered all alone in the night
He curled himself up like a ball very tight
But now this poor pup no longer he cries
And his soul has gone up on high...he lost his fight.

My three children all cried when they read it - my eldest has now decided that as soon as she hits 16 she will be going to our local rescue centre and offer to do voluntary work there, the middle one grabbed our two dogs and hugged them tightly - she can't understand people and my youngest wants me to go to the rescue centre after christmas and bring home all the puppies/doggies that have been left there, oh how I wish I could :(

Now come on Donna, how can it be bah-humbug when there is a HUGE chocolate log waiting to be eaten with lashings of fresh cream and topped with more grated belgian chocolate, mmmmmmmmm......... that's christmas for me then :)

Wow that has brought tears....Ive never had a litter near to xmas..but thinking some poor little puppy will be like the one in the poem....upsets me

Thats really sad.My dogs dam was called star and my dogs name is Polly,short for Polaris as i wanted to name her after her mother.Now Polaris is the brightest star in the sky and in my eyes Polly always will be the brightest star. :)

That definitely brought tears to my eyes. I hate to think of any pups ending up like that after Christmas.

We got our pup just after christmas.I think it was a pup that didnt sell.

How sad ....made me cry. We are hoping to get our second rescue dog before Christmas. I hope all goes well. We have already been planning what pressies to get him...but I think a loving home with a playmate will be his best present. He has been in the rescue centre for 2 months and was in stray kennels before that, bless his heart. And he is only 10/12 months old. Thank you for sharing that moving song.
