Is it the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe one? If so, I was really disturbed by the lion being killed by the witch when I was a youngster and a film of it was on TV - so I defintiely won't be going to see it!!
I'm not sure which one it is, but my husb says it's 'The Lion witch etc' Thought I might go with my 12yr old - going -on - 25- step- daughter.

Don't think anyone but the reviewers have seen it yet, as the Worldwide Premiere is tomorrow! I am going to try and get tickets for Saturday to take nephews and niece -- even the 18 year old is dying to see it! The Queen's sleigh pulled by polar bears looks amazing on the trailers. ChloeH, don't be too upset by Aslan (the lion) dying - remember he does come back to life :) Youngest nephew has put the video game on his christmas list too, as well as the action figures, think this is going to be a very "Narnia" christmas :)

Story is wonderful - all mine loved it, and I got a set of tapes from M & S last year, which my GS loved - so this year, he asked for it to read - managed to get a super book & I know he's going to see it next week, too!
Its had mixed reviews - some think it wonderful, others say its been a bit "disneyfied".

It wasn't him dying - it was the way it was done. I clearly remember him being tied down on a stone table and stabbed - it really, really screwed me up as a child... I would hate to go if they have made even more of that scene in the new one

:)

I saw it on Saturday, thought they made a good job of it and stayed fairly true to the book. Haven't read it for years, but it's obviously well ingrained in my mind as I was remembering the plot as I went. Thought from some of the trailers they might have made it a bit too 'Lord of the Rings', but apart from a couple of bits I thought it was great.
Don't think you'd like the Aslan scene though Carla, if you didn't like it as a child.
M.

Can't wait to see it. I read and re-read the books as a child, all of them, and then did it all again -and again- as an adult. My past favourite pet cat was King Caspian, and next time I get a very special one he'll be Aslan. I've had a Rilian too. :) Even had a rat once called Reepecheep. :D

Little-Un is soo looking forward to seeing the film :) (actually we all are :) ) He's been reading the Chronicles of Narnia as he got them for his 8th birthday and is on The Horse and His Boy now :) In his words he "ripped" through the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe so the film wouldn't spoil his enjoyment of the book :D :D I'm so pleased he's enjoying them as they were my favourite books as a child :)

johnthan ross slated it last week as not so good as what you thing it going to be.
but i still go and see for myself

Off to see it on Wednesday, and I'm sooo excited!!! I am an adult, honestly :D Never liked it as a child at all, but these days I'm into anything sci fi or fantastical/magical like narnia, so I'm sure it's going to be great!

My mum wants to go and watch it and I'm not sure if I want to see it or not but might just go along anyway. Most films I say I'm not interested in seeing tur out to be really good, maybe it's because I lower my expectation! Ulike whe I see films I really want to see and they turn out to be a dissapointment (Like war of the worlds and Harry Potter :( )
I can't wait to see it, I'll be going with Des when he's home for Xmas! :)
As a child I adored all the chronicles of Narnia, and I still love them to this day! Overall they are probably my favourite books ever.
I am a bit concerned re the polar bears - in the book it was reindeer! :P - but i know the story will have been glammed up a bit and am prepared for that.
Am excited!!! :D

Will be going to see it with OH and our three kids - I'm really excited about it, don't know why but it just seems right for christmas. Anyway, I read the Chronicles of Narnia to my kids and they have since read them again to themselves and they are all looking forward to seeing the film so roll on next week.

i saw it last thursday was great just as good as the book!!!!
Excellent - we're going to see it on Tuesday, can't wait :) And then they'll be King Kong - we'll go and see that a week on wednesday, the kids would have broken up from school and will already be bored LOL :)
i just thought i'd add that i'm so thick, i didn't have the foggiest that it was a lion witch & the wardrobe! I knew the title sounded familiar, but couldn't quite think why

my friend saw it last night and said it was fab. Now i know what its about, i could be tempted to go see it myself!

Went to see it on Saturday, I was a bit worried that it would be a typical disney film ie all the scary bits removed but it was great, very close to the book. My 10 year old daughter (who I read the book with a couple of months ago) and her friend were literally on the edge of their seats :D
