Hi Guys,

I have just got home from work to find deon sat on the landing looking very guilty!, i then walk towards my bedroom and found that in my absence he has got into my room and decided to chew a CD, i have located some of the pieces but there are some missing and i cant find them, i am now worried that deon has eaten them, and the corners are very sharp. What should i do?? just for those who done know deon is a 45KG rottweiler who is still only 16 months old :)  so i am hoping that if he has swallowed them he chewed them into small pieces and wont cause him any harm, but i am worried sowhat can i do? he seems ok and nothing is bothering him, any advice would be appreciated!!

I think a visit to the vets is called for as soon as possible. CD fragments can be very sharp and could cause internal injuries.

Probably worth a check by the vet, they may say it will pass through his system and come out fine, but better to be sure. I have just had loads of stones removed from Breeze as she couldn't pass them herself.

Aren't they cheeky dogs, but luckily she doesn't eat the house...

dont do this wiythout checking ,
but im sure i read somewhere that if your dog ate xmas glass baubles you should try to get it to eat cotton wool ball as it gives the sharp things something to cling on too as it passes thru, you can dunk the cotton wool in milk to make it palatable. i DONT know if this would work for a cd, & i have NO idea how much would be safe to use?but it is a idea & also a reminder incase anyones dog eats the xmas tree.

I would go to the vets.  Copper stole a sausage on a cocktail stick and scoffed the entire thing.  I phoned the vets thinking they would tell me it was trivial and not to worry and they told me to take him straight in.  Thankfully no damage done but best to check.

Ellie... when she was a pup ate a cotton reel with a needle attached the reel was just chewed but I knew there was a needle to begin with but it was missing....she was fine but I wasnt satisfied so I went straight to the vets ....Ellie used to get very car sick.... on the journey there she threw up and woe and behold the needle and cotton still attached popped out....we were extremely lucky but still went to the vet for a check up and all was fine....that taught me a big lesson about not leaving anything lying around just for a second !!!

I would be making a trip to the vets  I'm afraid..
