Hi all,
Bit of  a funny one this but maybe someone can shine some light? My 9 month old dobe pup has always been extremely independent and has always spent the night in his crate with no fuss at all since the very first time he went in it.  For the last couple of nights, he's been whineing in the early hours and has got us up - he seems fine, we've let him out incase he wanted the toilet or a drink or something. He has a cuddle and goes back and is usually ok then.Do you think he's going through a stage ( I have noticed he's gone more affectionate of late) I dont like leaving him to cry but I dont want to encourage it by rewarding this behaviour. What do you all think? He's always been abit of  a handful but I've noticed he is calming down slightly, which is good news! Now we have this little glitch with his crying????

Do you think he might have an upset tummy, my dog went through a stage like that just recently but i think it was because he had the runs.

Funny you should say that, because the first night he did it, he DID have the runs when he went outside. I think the problem might be that maybe he's not been spending enough time outside to do his business before bed cos its been raining - y'know what dobes are like about getting wet! I'll keep an eye on him. I jst didnt want to start something by me getting up to him all the time! Thanks for the reply.
