Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / ??? Cradle cap ???

Has anyone experienced flakey type skin on their puppies, which resembles cradle cap like babies get. Mine have it under their chin and down their neck, some also have it on their ears. I have been putting E45 cream on it, which helps a bit, but does not seem to get rid of the flakes. Has anyone got any ideas.

hi   how old is the pup? and what breed?
young  pups do get Creeping Dandruff, Cheyletiella ,  I would take your pup to your vet to confirm this,
it is not uncommon ,  this is a problem in a lot of Terrier Breeds, but with the right treatment will clear up
in no time,

They are 5 week old Setters. I have had other litters with it and it does eventually clear up. I was just writting to see if anybody has used anything different to what I have used.

We use Seline or  Malaseb Shampoo, But seek Veterinary
advice on application.

my last litter had it & it worried me especially as it coincided with puppy buyers visiting their babies & I was paranoid about what they must have thought!!! My vet gave me fuciderm but I found just plain warm water & sponge helped & they grew out of it in a few weeks.
