my initial post about her puppies an the way soon has been removed, no idea as to why so as some of you know our bitch is due to whelp tomorrow, she last eat a meal on tuesday lunchtime, had a little scrambled egg on tuesday night & had a little few snacks since but nothing much, her temp dropped last night to 98.3 a sign of what i thought she was going into labour & would be delivering soon, however we have had her to vets tonight & they say she is showing all the signs of labour but no contractions, vet gave her an internal examination & said cervix still not open, she said if it had she would of given her an oxytocin jab, she also did another scan to make sure puppies were not in distress but all seemed fine & well there, vet then said she would recommend a c-section & wanted to do her tonight but then said after she saw pups on ok scan that if no pups arrive by morning then they would like to have her in, just taken her temp again & is now almost 100 degrees again, i know a bitch's temp does rise again before it falls but as her temp dropped so low last night what do you all think, i maybe am thinking they should leave her be but again our bitch is more important, i am not saying i dont value my puppies & suppose the vets are the experts & maybe should take their advice but how many times do they give wrong advice, she is a lot more unsettled that she was with the odd dig in her bed but nothing you would expect with a full in whelp bitch
now we just has a call from a more senior vet in the practice of whom  says not to section unless in distress, my initial thoughts are this bitch will deliver on her own soon
       your advice will be welcomed

You don't say how many puppies the scan showed - often if there is a singleton, then, for some reason, the hormones responsible for causing contractions to start can be almost non-existant.  But if its day 63 tomorrow, I think you'fll find she start soon.    Good luck!

hi there thanks for your message sorry i forgot to mention puppy numbers, vet thinks 2 puppies but scans sometimes can be wrong as to detect numbers, never had a correct number as to a scan yet
