If you contact the secretary of The Cocker Spaniel Club they should know of people expecting puppies, be prepared to wait for what you want tho as good breeders don't always have puppies available ;)

Good luck

And you'll probably have to be extremely patient if you want an orange bitch with show potential as this is not a common colour & good ones are hard to come by.

I'm not sure it would be possible at all to get an orange roan bitch with show potential as I doubt the breeder would be parting with it :) but I read the OPs post as simply wanting one from show lines as oppose to working bred so they should have a rather better chance at that.

She says she's possibly looking to show which is why I posted the above ;-)

Oh yea! Sorry not reading properly :) Ooooh very slim chance then, but not impossible.  I was very lucky when I got mine, my breeder had never bred an orange roan before until she popped out from 5 generations of blue, oranges were in general not that good at the time, about 10 years ago, if you remember, and I don't think she really wanted to go there:).  She grew on well though, perhaps because of her very blue ancestory, and I showed her with reasonable success (especially considering neither of us enjoyed showing much ;)) her breeder has been including orange in her breeding ever since :)
Diane, if you are looking to start showing I think you have to consider any colour at all to start with as it is hard enough to get breeders to part with anything that has real show potential and then hope to work towards breeding your own if you have a colour preference.

I agree Isabel - if you want to start showing, it's best not to be too picky about the colour you start with. I always tell people who want to book an orange bitch for showing that it took us nearly 20 years to breed one we considered good enough to show & it might take us another 20 to get another as good (hope not though :D)
