Just wanted to get this off my chest - more ads than normal this week (coming up to Christmas). Alongside the normal staffs, labradors (2 ads for each this week) and jack russells we have GSD's (both parents can be seen £375 for Black and Tan, £500 for cream, DL registered), Bassett Hounds (lovely and cuddly, DL registered, £650) and newfie/OES crosses would you believe (cheeky tearaways £500). I just hope some of these puppies find good, loving and caring homes.
I'm actually surprised that DLRC doesn't register these stupid crosses either, though saying that do they?

What is this "Dog Lover's Registration" when it's at home? Only it sounds to me like neither one thing nor t'other!
It gets to me aswell when you see the adverts that actually state "perfect xmas gift" when they advertise their puppies. All the local breeders i know place ads in our local paper saying that they WILL NOT sell to anyone till after the new year.Litters are planned so there are no pups ready to go at that time.

My babies are ready to go at xmas (they're not going then); however the point I wanted to make is that I haven't and will not advertise them anywhere - a good breeder should not need to advertise their puppies as they are usually all gone long before their even born.

It's so frustrating to see those moronic adverts :( you think something like "a dog is for life, not just for crimbo" is common knowledge - but then you remember it's common knowledge in places like champdogs, where most of the populous don't go

I take hope in knowing there are people out there willing to take in the poor puppies who get turfed out - I was reading in DogWorld (might have been Our Dogs) about a woman who rescues puppies. It's awful that people like her have to do it, but reassuring to know there is hope for the poor little mites who end up as unwanted gifts.

if you do a search on here for DLRC you will find lots of threads that will help explain :)

At one time, our local paper had the rule that it would not accept advertisements for puppies or kittens during December - wonder wheather that ruling has gone by the board, now?

Did the search and learnt all sorts of useful info about the DLRC! Managed to get totally distracted and spent all afternoon looking at old topics which was equally fascinating, mind!! :)
