Feeling a bit sorry for myself today, went for Mamogram this morning after finding breast lump 6 weeks ago, had a scan and a biopsy which i have to go get the results of next week, until today this wasn't real and I just went with the attitude it will be nothing!  A bit of a shock to the system to hear the words there is a mass there to which i replied 'yes i think there is'.  Doh he was telling me not asking me!  I'm so shook up today, and the local is wearing off so time for painkillers soon too!

Poor you.  My sister had the same proceedure done some while back, and the good news is she was absolutely fine, no cancer.  Try not to worry about it until you get the results (easier said than done I know!), and even then, if it is bad news (fingers crossed that it isn't), it's sooooo treatable nowadays - you will be fine.  Good luck xx

Well these things usually come back negative don't they?

However, my mum was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 5 years ago.  Had the lump removed, radiotherapy and so far still clear.  The important thing is that you stay positive.  My mum who should have retired even back then would not let the doctor put cancer onthe certificate and he asked her what he should put and she said just put breast surgery :D  She makes me laugh, funnier still the doctor did as he was told!

It will probably seem a long wait for the results, but again, they usually come back negative.  Remember important thing is to keep your chin up ;)

Keep strong Craigles.

I had a breast lump removed almost 2 years ago.  I discovered another one earlier this year.  I went in a few weeks ago for scans etc and have finally received a letter giving me the all clear.

It's an awful time.  I just put on a brave face even though inside you have every negative thought possible!  I hope the next week flies by for you.

Keep us informed and remember many of us on here have either been through it or have someone close who has gone through it.  There is a lot of love and supoort on this board.

yeah i'm fine and I know most lumps are benign, just spoke to my husband on the phone as I didn't want to talk to anyone earlier and i'm going home from work in twenty mins and I'm having a takeaway as I can't be bothered to cook! (any excuse for me not to cook i'm afraid!)

I know its hard not worrying about these things but please try not too.Life is to short to worry. Its probably nothing anyway.A friend of mine had the same problem and made herself physically sick worrying just to get the results back as a cyst.It was removed using mico surgery and she wasnt even put under anasthetic, just sedated. She didnt remember anything about it after the operation. The surgeon thought it would be safer than putting her totally out.

Craigles

All that I will say is try not to worry and until you get your results try and stay positive until then :)

If it is cancer then the recovery rates are extremely good nowadays and so it is definate not all doom and gloom on the prognosis if it is caught early and treatment is started asap. My MIL, Cousin and Aunty have all had it are are all still here to tell the tale ! :)

I hope it is just a cyst though to put your mind at rest ;)

Take Care and chin up !

Lucy

Good news all is fine benign lump, which is less than 5cm so they leave alone, go back to GP if any change but altogether very very good news!

Champagne Champagne Champagne!

The chances were it would come back negative but it's always such a worry.  You put that behind you now and really look forward to Christmas.  Take a deep breath, relax and don't forget .....more Champange :D
