Just a bit of an update about our puppy with a cataract, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. My husband took her to the specialist opthalmologist yesterday and we have a bit of a wierd diagnosis.
He said that our puppy had a deformation at the BACK of the lens, that the white star shaped area wasnt at the front of the lens like a cataract would be it was a congenital problem that meant that her lens hadnt developed properly. He also said that the liquid inside the eye was not clear and that it was a bit murky. He didnt mention a cataract operation at all. In effect she is blind in that eye.
Now as my husband took her and not me (I was in hospital, but thats another story :( ) I have only got his version of what he remembered. So I have left a message with the vet to give me a call and tell me if they could still and replace the lens the same as in a cataract op.
Has anyone else heard of this?
