My 51/2 month cocker has been sick several times this morning, it was clear vomit sort of like egg white, shes also sleeping a lot not her usual mad self, its a bit worrying ,any advice ?  ,she hasnt touched her food this morning either ,which is not like her .
Also at what stage would you consult a vet ?.

yellow bile is usually due to an empty stomach but as she is unwell not eating lethargic etc a visit to the vet would be my first priority.

One thing that you do need to check regually is that she is not dehydrated. lift the skin on the back of her neck. It should spring straight back. If not then she is dehydrated and needs to get to a vet asap.

Otherwise it really depends on how ill you think she is. I know one of my labs acts as if she is at deaths door if she is only slightly ill the other would be half dead before he showed any sign. If nothing else is untoward I personally would keep a close eye on her for 24 hours, but then my vet operates 24/7 and will see you at a couple of hours notice most of the time, less if you say it is urgent.

edited to add: If you have any doubt get her to a vet, it is better safe than sorry and will put your mind at rest.

Turns out shes got a blockage ,had an operation this afternoon , vet found a big lump of black rubber and strands of yellow thread ,dont know what the rubber is but the strands are from a doggie soft toy which shes ripped to bits ,so take care with these things ,
anyway shes recovering fine ,just hope my bank balance does the same.

Hi dizzydolly,
So glad she is fine and recovering well....
is the rubber from a mat??
one of my girls used to try and chew the rubber around the back door mat so beware...

I dont let young dogs have soft cuddly toys until they chewing stage is over as they tend to rip them open and pullout the filling.....hard chew toys are much better :)

Good Luck
