Why not join it is free and then you may get more info. The article that you were recommended to read is very useful but of course it needs to be put into practice, not sure how you can dismiss it in such a short time; it DOES actually work...........

What breed is your puppy?

The article says that by the time a pup is 4 or 5 months old it should be using next-to-no pressure ... your puppy is only 13 weeks, and is getting the idea because you say she's gentle with your OH. How long has your whole family been consistently applying the rules?

The only other tip I can suggest is to never let your puppy get over-excited. Keep her calm and she'll mouth less.

..and pups will mouth often up to 20 weeks...

For very persistent problems you can use a "3 strikes and you're out" ... try a search on here as i have mentioned this before and it has worked for very mouthy older dogs but must be done with care....

good luck!

Our pup had a 'mad' fortnight when she was 'Little Miss Hiss' :D - tried everything, but finally resorted to picking her up by the scruff (only way to avoid the flashing teeth) and putting her behind the dog gate for a time-out. The whole thing stopped almost as suddenly as it started :)

The bite inhibition tips do work but every dog is different and you have to work out what works on your particular pup. Some sensitive little souls being a lot more impressed by "ouch" than other more bumptious pups.  I've got one of those and brief time outs to reconsider options when overtired and far too full of gnashing little teeth are gradually having the required effect.

However, if your puppy is only 13 weeks old you've probably got a deal more work to do before writing the bite inhibition article off completely. Don't forget that teething doesn't help matters either. They all go through this stage but if you are consistent in how you deal with it they will all come out of it. It just seems endless at the time.

The bite inhibition article does work :)

At 13 weeks your pup could just be starting teething ;) this means that biteyness will increase for a while owing to the need to chew everything  ;)  for some time to come ;)

Don't forget the whole family and anyone the pup sees regularly have to react the same way when the pup is mouthing them ;) otherwise the pup won't learn to be gentle ;)

13 weeks is no age at all.  My pup mouthed for a long time.  We tried recommended methods and found that yelping stopped her in her tracks but didn't stop her immediately coming back for more, scruffing had some effect but a combination of us yelping, scruffing then putting her out solved it.  You have to be consistent though, it might work quickly for some but take longer for others.  This is my first dog since childhood and I have to admit there were times during puppyhood when I thought I'd made a terrible mistake getting her.  It soon passes though and the end result is definitely worth it
