My eight year old collie cross is acting strange.....last week i noticed he was a bit subdued, keeping himself to himslef and lying about in strange places around the house. Yesterday and today, he's being weird.... he's actuing really jumpy barking and jumping startled at the least noise, and he's either extra clingy as in sitting demanding strokes etc or the opposite lying in corners etc etc......

Any ideas folks????

Have you had him checked over by the vet?

Sounds like physical discomfort to me. I suggest a trip to the vet.

No I haven't had him checked, must admit was thinking of it, but sometimes I think my vet looks at me like I'm mad when i go in for "non specific" things.......

My x collie is stil behaving strangely but my 8 mnth old bitch came into season this morning, do you think that his behaviour is down to that...........it seems a little coincidental doesn't it???

It's very possible yes.......
