Buy some bones or a kong and stuff it with salmon pasted, that will keep the pup occupied for a bit.

Ice cubes can be very soothing as well as a joy to chase around but a very handy tip I got from this forum was to freeze a teatowel (in my case, having a small breed of dog, a large handkerchief does the trick) and let the pup chew on that. Again, it's soothing and chewy and can be re-frozen after a quick wash!
