Doubt it unless you are able to convince a breeder you will be a responsible owner who has some knowledge of the breed. :)

Mrs Johnson is the Flatcoated Retriever Society litter secretary.  01638 718231.

She can advise you on all things flatcoat and have a list of litters. All approved breeders comply with the code of ethics and have their dogs health checked before breeding.

Do not buy a flatcoat form a breeder that is not a member of the FCR Society, as you may not be sure of the sort of breeding they are doing.

All the best - they are a fab breed! (if you are active, ofcourse).

Agree totally with Patti, if there are any puppies available go to Mrs Johnson of the Flatcoated Retriever Society. All Society members comply to the code of ethics and have their flatcoats health checked before breeding. Also they stick to the code of ethics which are available for you to read on the Society web site.

I should like to make a slight correction to Polly's statement.

Mrs Johnson runs the official litter register on behalf of the Society.  Anyone wishing to put their puppies on the register has to comply by the code of ethics and have all stock health tested.

Anyone NOT complying by the code of ethics (whether they are a member of the Society or not) is not allowed to put their puppies on the register.
