Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Christmas Dog Club?

Do your Clubs have a Christmas Night?  What sort of things do you do?

I act as an Assistant to one of our Trainers, and would like to help make a few suggestions.

Should it all be fun and games or maybe mix and match with regular training?

If so, do you prefer it to just having a normal regular training night?

Any ideas and thoughts most welcome, thanks.

At ours we only have fun. Games, a buffet, and christmas presents for the dogs. Games include egg and spoon races, balloon races, all sorts of obstacle courses, musical chairs. We also have a fancy dress competition. :)

Don't forget the Sausage retrieve/eating race ;) My BC's used to love that one :) we have two parties one for the dogs & one for the humans BTW

WE have games,  competitions and fancy dress as well as a buffet.  It is a new doggy place, with various activities and classes, the party was for all.  The first year it was a bit too much geared towards the obedience dogs,l sits & stays, tricks etc.  Only one Puglet could go in for was the egg and spoon!  Last years was a lot more open to fun for everyone, there was still the chance for the well trained to show off their skills, but lots of silly games too, musical sits, an obstical race, egg and spoon, sausage race etc (and fancy dress of course)
bye
Gwen
