The test is expensive I believe it was around £260. and we have found it very helpful our puppy is a lot better since we took all the foods out of his diet that this test said he is allergic to.
If you think this test is rather expensive then what I would do if write down all foods your dog has been eating past and present and look at the ingredients and see if they have similar ingredients maybe you might work out what it causing the problem.
It's horrible watching them being in pain poor little feet they can become red raw :(
No I dont think £260 is too expensive kind of expected it, can you claim on ins at all?? if not it will be the old visa card job...
Now to-day no chewing.....know he is allergic to the usual beef, chicken, fish, wheat & gluton and have taken them out of his diet, just some days ok and other not. will ring vet and ask...
Thanks.
You should be able to claim it on insurance, depending on your policy of course. Its definately worth it. THe most expensive one is the test for both food and environmental, then their is a test for food only, environment only etc. Sometimes they can be extremely interesting. One dog i know is extrememly allergic to house dust mites, another to different types of grass, so it isn''t just diet. Once the test is done, you may then have the optionof desensitisation injections if it is something envorinmental, funds willing of course.
