My dog chews everything! She chews our own wrists, telephone wires, duvet coversand everything. Please can you help me by giving me tips.
thanks
btw she is a paterdale terrier of about 16/17 months
Poor you! My dog doesnt chew but he eats anythings he can get hold of! and he is over 2 years old! we have just learnt to live with it now, by being making sure there is nothing he can reach!! With the chewing - im not an expert or anything but heres a few tips that i have learnt over the years!
I definately wouldnt put up with chewing of your wrists! Whats always worked with ours is yelping (sort of short, sharp sounding yelps when he does each bite. Quite often dogs dont want to hurt you but just to play so you yelping tells them it hurts. Another idea is just to ignore your dog completely when she does it (ok, i know its hard to do!) but she is wanting attention and you saying oowww or pushing her away is giving her the attention she wants! Ignore her until she stops and then play with her with a toy or praise her.
With the chewing of duvet covers - id keep your dog out of the bedroom so she cant. With things like telephone wires - just make sure that she cant get to any or catch her doing it and say no. Some dogs chew when they are bored so you could get her a treat ball to play with or something to keep her occupied.
You can also buy some no chew dog spray which is available at most big pet stores. Its a spray that isnt harmful to the dog but they hate the taste and smell. You spray it on things that you dont want your dog to chew - its worth a try and works on some dogs.
Dont worry most dogs do grow out of chewing! One of my old dogs actually ate a chunk out of thw wall once! but there were no problems once she was older.
Good Luck, hope the tips help a bit :)
oh dear it must be horrible, adding to the advice already given maybe buy lots of dog chews for your dog to (leagally!!) chew on.

Just a thought. My telephone wires were always being chewed and I thought I had mice because it was where the dog couldn't get it. When the engineer came he told me animals just love to chew telephone wires and he thought perhaps they gave off a vibration. Any way I actually caught the cat having a chew at them. So it would appear they are irresistible to some animals. He certainly wasn't young or teething. Strange behaviour I know but as long as it isn't electric wiring, which should always be well out of reach, your telephone wires are for some reason interesting to animals......
