My bitch had a slip mating nearly 5 weeks ago. I would just like to know when she will start to look pregnant, she is a large bodied girl. when do the teats start to change in shape. She has had all the relavent vet tests done to make sure she was good for breeding. Also had hip scores done.

The teats will usually enlarge and turn pink after about 3 weeks, but you often don't see any other changes in body such as a weight gain until 6 weeks.

How long was the slip mating, you do hear of puppies resulting from them (usualy when you don't want pups) but there has to be enough contact for ejaculation to ahve taken place, so the mating would ahve had to have lasted a minute or more after penetration).

Were you unable to get a tie on subsequent attempts.  As a bitch owner I would not have been satisified with a slip mating.

Had you not thought of having your bitch scanned, this should normally be fairly reliable after 28 days from mating.
