Hi
Can anybody help in answering a query regarding this particular dog. I have a bitch with this dog in her lineage and was just looking on this website to find out a bit more about him and a pedigree i found shows him as a sh ch. When i looked on my pedigree he has not got the sh ch along side his name. I've been in touch with the kennel club and they have confirmed that this dog is not registered as a show champion with them or any of the other dogs on this particular pedigree ie tyton sir Alphonso at Jimjoy. Has Anybody else got him showing as show champion because i find it incredibly misleading that he can be advertised as a sh ch when the kennel club has no knowledge of this.

Hi Keepers, The KC is correct in saying Tyton Lord Hastings is not a Sh Ch, neither is Tyton Sir Alphonso at Jimjoy.

Tyton Sir Alphonso is by Tyton Lord Hastings out of Tyton Manata Truffa
Tyton Lord Hastings is by Boothgates Headliner out of tyton Casca
Tyton Manata Truffa is by Jimjoy Jamaica Rum out of Jimjoy Chocolate Sunday of Tyton

Jimjoy is known as a commercial breeder, and very rarely would you ever see one of their dogs in the ring let along taking placings. certainly (as far as I am aware never winning a championship show let alone gaining the coveted 3CCs required to make Sh Ch.

However Boothgates Headliner is a very well known dog by Ch Warringha's Harlech out of Lindall Mollie malone,  Boothgates Headliner was used prolifically at stud.

Also Jimjoy Jamaica Rum is by Sh Ch Lindall Mastercraft out of Jimjoy Chocolate Charmer

It is not unknown for people to assume a play on words in using the Sh Ch to advertise their dogs, albeit they themselves are not, but, because of a Sh Ch 3 generations back, they will use this trick to con unasuming and trusting possible purchaser into thinking they are.  It is sad how few people actually research a pedigree before purchase.  This type of advertising is against trading standards.  Although not much has been done about it apart from a slap on the wrist.  However in the recent light of puppy farming, trading standards are now taking this form of advertising very seriously.

In the last year I rescued 3 dogs from a backyard breeder, 2 of the bitches had this lineage (same parents as your bitch) and all 3 dogs were purchased from a puppy farm.... this was admitted to me by the owner and she also handed over all the pedigrees and registration papers for the 3 dogs.  Although the dogs have now gone to good forever homes, I still have all the registration docs and pedigrees certs in my possession.

Guest,  you will need to join if you require further information on you bitch.

I think some people also display the Sh CM award misleadingly, to make it look as similar to the Sh Ch award as possible. Ie: Sh Cm, and by using that in some waffle before the dog's name, introducing the dog.

thanks so much for the information I did e-mail the lady who was showing her pedigree as all three of those dogs as being show champions to ask her about it to see if a mistake had been made by the kennel club. She mailed me back and agreed that after speaking to the kennel club herself that they were not sh ch at all. She has since amended her pedigree on-line at champdogs and she said that the breeder she bought her dog from told her that they were show champions. I think she was a genuine person but had been misled herself by the breeder she bought the dog from. I am new to this website and i have to say the information available is incredible. I'm not really sure how to join in when i need info as in posting messages. I have become a member.

Hi keepers, and welcome to the forum.

Its very simple.  Just go down the list of topics and choose the one relevant to your queries and open it. Then all you need do is open new topic and ask away :)

I am sure the Lady you are speaking about has been mislead, it is too easy to trust. It pays to do your research and homework before purchasing any animal,
