Regarding the 'over attachment' of your 7 month old Westie.  When you take him outdoors for a walk off lead, does he stick to your side not wanting to leave your side???  (My guess is that he does not).

If your dog was 'over attached' (as you are viewing it) then this behaviour would be heightened and more obviously demonstrated when you and he were in a more open, changing and 'risky' situation - the great outdoors!!

If your dog indeed NEVER wishes to leave your side where-ever you are, then please ignore this message and continue to follow any present advice you are given.
