My oldest girl keep crying and howling on and off.  It's an awful cry, really sounds like she's unhappy.  Just have a feeling that somethings wrong although she's still running around and seems to be enjoying life othr than these odd episodes which occur about 4 times a day.

I think that she's gone deaf recently, do you think this could be it and she's not adapting well to it, or anything else.

Seems daft to worry about it, but it's such a haunting howl and cry that I just feel that there's something else going on, but how do you tell a vet that, when on the outside she looks fit and well?

Do you think she's getting confused perhaps? I know my oldest boy definitely is, we keep saying he's lost the plot. He wakes us up in the night barking for absolutley no reason. There is that condition known as canine cognitive dysfunction or somthing similar -in fact saw an ad in one of the dog papers for medication for it the other day and meant to ask my vet about my boy.
