Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / how many meals??
- By luvhandles Date 13.11.05 20:18 UTC
Having just changed over to Naturediet, I'm unsure about how many meals that I should give my 10 week old pup. When he came to me at 8 weeks on Pedigree complete mixed with pouches, he was on 3 meals a day but 'snacked' through the day - never cleared his dish and he never touched his supper so his breeder advised me to cut out the evening feed and just feed breakfast and dinner which was working fine. Now with the naturediet, he cleared his dish in one go at dinner time so don't know if to carry on with 2 meals or start feeding supper again....what would you do??

Thanks for the help!

I feed mine 4 meals a day up to 12 weeks of age, then drop to 3 meals a day up until 6 months of age. After this they then go on to 2 meals a day :) I have a 10 week old pup at the moment and he is still on 4 meals a day.

I've got a 15 week old pup who really isn't interested in breakfast but seems to be thriving and gaining the appropriate weight on lunch and supper. I deliberately don't let him snack all day but do wonder how long it'll be before I should cut out attempts to get him to eat in the morning and just ensure he has the right amount of food across two meals. Only it seems so futile to try and poke food down him when he isn't interested!

I'm just worried about overloading his tum now as he loves the food so much. I think I'll try splitting his meals into 3 again and see how it goes.
