Can you enter stakes classes at open or/and championship dog shows even though you are not a member or do you have to be a member of that show? What about Junior Handling and YKC stakes?

In the case of Open Shows, you need to read the schedule carefully. Sometimes the classes are members stakes, and sometimes they are simply stakes classes. At Champ shows, again you'd need to check the elligibility, most are open to all within the class restrictions, and others require membership of some other organisation. The only one I can think of is the Pro Dogs Stakes. Then again, Pedigree asks that you are not in an exclusive advertising contract with any other food manufacturer. So the short answer is read the schedule and definition of classes, as they can vary.

YKC classes require you to be a member, as do JHA, but thats for champ shows. Junior handling at open shows only require you to be a child within the age ranges.

Anything to do with the YKC you need to be a member - but for JHA classes you only need to be a member if you want to compete at Richmond  - all other shows champ or open you dont need to be a member (unless it has changed in the last couple of years)

Het you don't need to be a member to compete in YKC handling :)  You do need to be a member to be invieted to Crufts though if you qualify :)

To enter YKC stakes you must be a member of the YKC and the dog must either be in your name and if not in your name then owned by direct relatives (parents) and in this case must live at your address.

to enter JHA handling and YKC handling you need not be a member of the JHA or YKC however if you want to compete at semi finals @ richmond (JHA) or Crufts handling (YKC if you qualify then you will have to be a fully paid up member.

Edit to add:  If you ahve any further questions about Junior handling or the YKC e-mail me at roxanne@roanjora.co.uk
