Please can you tell me if my puppy is safe to be taken into enclosed yard for toilet before having last vaccinations.  He has had first vaccine at 8wks before i got him & is booked in to have next at 10wks with my vets & have been advised he will be immune 1wk after this. I would prefer to start as mean to go on & teach him to go outside but am not sure if i should wait untill after next injections. I am going to telephone vets tommorow for advice just wondered what other peoples views were on this.
Thanks

As long as its not a communal yard and only used by your puppy I cant see any problem in him going outside .
The sooner you start a good toilet routine the better .
If you put him out every 20 min to half hour through the day using the  word you have chosen for his toileting  you will have him house trained in no time... persistence is the key.

good luck :)

Don't want to be pedantic but you've posted BOTH these questions already on another section of the board and now there's two sets of answers which is all getting a bit confusing!

We allowed our pup in our enclosed garden before his 2nd jab & he learnt very quickly where to clean himself (he has had only a couple of 'accidents' since he was 9wks old). Everyone entered our house through the garage, either removed their shoes outside or dipped them into the disinfectant dip we had at the door then washed their hands with an anitbacterial solution before touching anything. We also had an anti-bacterial gel for hands which was great - no water or towels needed.  Our other dog also had his paws dipped before coming back in after a walk, no other dogs allowed though. It's only for a few weeks & worth it.
