My dog has for the last 2 days been digging in the park & eating mud! Is there a reason for this-do you know whether she is trying to get minerals or salt from the soil? Thanks Lizzie.

I think dogs who do this are normally self medicating in some way - my oldest bitch will dog at one patch in the garden and scrape the soil with her few remaining teeth (the teeth went before the soil eating started BTW) so yes, I think it's a search for minerals.
