Hi
I have an eight year old weimaraner, she had always been very slim up until a couple of years ago. She now has a big, big tummy which looks out of proportion. Her shoulders also seem to big now. We put her on a diet and nothing happened, at a routine visit to the vets we were told she is not overweight at all she just has a big tummy.
6 months ago she had a nasty cough and while on holiday we took her to the vets who mentioned she may have heart trouble. She was given antibiotics and the cough cleared.
2 months later she had a cough again, this time we took her to the vets at home again she was given antibiotics. I questioned the vet re a possible heart condition and she was very non committal and not really much help.
The antibiotics have cleared up the cough again, but I am still concerned re her big tummy.
I am trying to keep her weight down as she has had hip dysplasia (not sure how you spell it) and other joint problems as a pub.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jane
Hi Jane i'd take her to another vets and ask them to do some tests. What are you feeding her on? Has she been wormed recently? why dont you join there's loads of helpful people on here who'd be happy to help you out.
Good luck, i hope you find out the reason why.
Warm regards Susan
