is it possible to keep a shih tzus coat short so that they isn't a load of really long hair which could get matted. My dog would not be for show  but is it possible to keep them with short hair?> any advice thanks!

Just out of interest why would you want to get a dog with a long coat you can't look after?

If you really want you can get the hair shaved off short or even trimmed short by either a groomer (but make sure you find one with a good reputation and who doesn't just shave every dog that comes though the doors!  Or learn to do it yourself.

Even cut short he'd still need combing through every day (down to the skin) just as your hair or mine needs combing every day.
