Hi
I just wondered if anybody could help.  I have been looking for somebody to walk my golden retriever for me whilst I am out at work 2 days a week and would like them to come and walk her 3 times a day.  I have phoned a few different places and get given different prices from each one.  Does anyone know the standard price one should pay for a person to come and walk their dog and does it usually include the 3 walks a day or do they charge by the walk?

My dog walker charges £11 for a walk (approx one and half hour) or £20 for the day (she keeps the dog and they get 2 or 3 walks during the day.  That is in London though, so I'm sure it will vary depending on where you are.

I would say thats a fair price wherever you live,I was paid £5 to let a dog out for a wee/poo yesterday so i took her for a short walk too 3/4 hour in total.

I pay £8.50 for a half hour walk for my dog and now I have got another dog its an extra £1 to cover insurance for her to go aswell.  My dogs LOVE Geoff their dog walker and he sits and chats to my mum for about an hour aswell while im away which is brilliant as she is practically housebound when Im not around.  :-D So get the dogs and mum socialised and entertained, bargain!! hee hee

Hi, I pay £5.00 for 30-40 min walk during lunch time. I was lucky enough to find two vet nurses who offer this service during their lunch period. Jasper loves them!

I would do a couple of basic checks on the people. Ask for references and make sure they are insured. I think there's a national association for petsitters but I don't know how much weight it carries.

The one near me charges £6 an hour for small group walks and £6 per half hour for one on one walks. I'm in the North West so it could vary by region?

We've used a couple of people and they've charged £7 per hour and £10 per hour.  The cost has gone up recently due to the rise in fuel prices!  If it helps we live in Surrey.

Guest,
If you want your dog walked three times per day I'd probably suggest using a dog minding service. I pay £20 per day -I know this is'nt the cheapest way of doing things but it works well for us.
