my dog passed away yesterday we all miss him so much it was heartbreaking. He had an enlarged heart he was only 5 months old. I am looking for a new puppy now to replace as i cant live without a dog in the family. prefably i would like a cross-bred puppy ideally anyone out there in sheffield, rotherham, barnsley, chesterfield and doncaster areas if anyone knows of one please send me some infomation. He would come to a very loving and caring home.
Why not go to a rescue home and find a puppy there? So many of them need a home.
Oh Guest...I am so sorry! It must be heartbreaking for you. Have you considered a Pedigree Puppy? All good breeders will only breed from health checked parents and it could save you a lot of heartache in the future.
I agree! Usually if you buy a crossbreed dog they are usually bred from puppy farmers which are only in it for the profit they make. They usually never do health tests for the parents before breeding and sometimes puppy farmers will try to make you believe that they have created a new breed. For example one of my friends bought a cavalier and i told her to buy puppies from a breeder who is kc registered and who has produced winningshowdogs but she didnt listen and went off and bought a puppy from a puppy farmer. The dog had bad conformation like long gangly legs which is a fault in this breed. My friend asked the breeder why he had long legs and the breeder told her that there was 2 versions of cavaliers the long legged one and the short legged one. Stupidly my friend fell into the trap of believing the breeder! the dog was not kc registered and he had a lot of health problems later on. It is best to buy a pedrigree puppy which is kc registered and all the parents have been health tested. It is ashame my friend never listened to me but she payed for it later on!

There are some lovely dogs in rescue that just need a good home, this is a different thing to buying from people who don't care less about their breed.

I agree - definitely check out your local rescue centre and give a dog/puppy in need a home. What better tribute to your puppy than to give your love to an abandoned little soul who needs it?
The only trouble with buying a crossbreed from the local papers etc... is that it just encourages people to do it again if they see they can make a few quid.
yes thats true! there are quite a few puppies in rescue centres help one of those poor little babies
my dogs a cross breed and shes prefectly ok

How do you know? Has she been hip-scored, BAER tested, eye-tested for all the hereditary conditions, heart-tested etc etc etc? Were her parents?

I agree with the majority. Go and look round your local rescue kennels if you want a cross breed. So many bitches are taken to rescue in whelp because they got out the the owners don't want the work! :( Good luck in your search. I hope you find your perfect puppy! :)
