My little westie cross bichon frise keeps weeing randomly during the night. She can be dry for 3 weeks or so and then one morning she will have done a wee. This might happen a couple of times that week, then she'll be fine for maybe a week and it will happen again. She always gets her walk at night when she does many wees in various places, so I don't understand what the problem is. There is no ryme or reason to it, as she can go all day and also some nights she's fine and then others not!! Does anyone know hy this might be happening? She was speyed at 6 months by the way if that helps?
Any ideas gratefully recieved!!

Maybe something is worrying her at night? A fox or hedgehog in the garden perhaps?

No she sleeps inside in our utility room, so that can't be it!

She may still hear things outside.......... Also ofcourse, this is the dreaded 'firework season' :(

So there is no way of preventing this? I don't particularly want to have her sleeping upstairs with us!! I guess I should get used to having to mop up wees in the mornings!
Has the vet tested to see if she has an infection.

I'd expect it to happen more frequently if it is an infection - but ofcourse it's always worth ruling out.
Perhaps a radio left on would mask any disturbance from outside?

I have this problem with my Bichon when I leave him for 30 mins every morning to do the school run. He messes in the kitchen everytime I leave him so I have started putting him in his crate and shutting the door and he doesn't usually do anything, although yesterday he had a wee on the blanket in his crate. Try crating her at nights and see if she still does it, although you will have to get her used to a crate first gradually if she has never been in one before.
