Hi there,
You need to slowly teach her some independence, so don't have her on your knee all of the time. Otherwise, you could end up with a dog with separation anxiety and you will have no life left. You have to be gentle and make sure you have a good routine, so that the pup knows what to expect when. A crate is a good way to teach them that it's ok to be on their own for short periods of time. Let her be on her own when she is tired and don't encourage her to follow you around all of the time. A baby gate will also help in keeping her contained in one room. You will ofcourse, only leave her for a few minutes at a time and slowly build up the time she is left on her own. Be kind and gentle in the beginning, but don't over-pamper her, it won't do you or her any favours in future.
All the best with your new pup!
Cheers,
Patty
