Hi,
I know that you are ment to breed on a bitches 3rd heat, but I would like to
breed my bitch on her 4th or 5th heat, would this be ok? or is it to late?
Bye

Think it very much depends on the breed.

The breed and age of you dog is more important. I would never breed for the first time if she has reach the age of four years. Also consider the reason you want to breed from your bitch very carefully.

Hi Millie,
My dog is a small dog (11"), when she has her 3rd heat she will be 2 years
old, but when it comes to her 4th heat she will be about 2 1/2 years old, and
about 3 years old on her 5th heat.

Does this help??
bye

Any of those seasons would be fine I think. She sounds the same size as my Griffons or a little bigger and I have bred for the first time at 2 3/4 with one girl, and 3 1/4 with another, without any mishap. I don't like doing it too soon as I like them to have a long puppyhood before becoming Mothers.
