Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Looking for English Springer Spaniel Pup

I am looking for an English Springer Spaniel Puppy that has not been docked or had its dew-claws removed.  We would like to get a puppy within the next month or so, either a dog or bitch, but we would not be breeding from them.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You didnt leave any contact details :(
would suggest you contact the breed clubs listed on the kennel club website

Why would you not want the dew claws to be removed?

I asked this question earlier today, and have now registered with this site.  I would prefer that the dew claws had not been removed as I do not see this as necessary.  I have never had a dog (including a very boisterous springer) that has had any problems with their dew claws.  We would not be keeping the animal as a working dog.

My BC puppy has his hind dewclaws which my vet & I both want removed they could cause seriouus damage I certainly will be having them taken off

I used to think removal was unnecessary until my dog hung himself upside down on a fence by one dewclaw - never again :(

Even though you do not plan to work your springer when you get it, it would be advisable to have at least the hind dew claws removed as these can get caught very easily even through simple play, running through bracken when on a walk etc.

If they catch a dew claw and it gets ripped it is not only extremely painful for the dog but will bleed profusely - this is why vets recommend hind dew claw removal.
