LOL

I suppose that depends on whether they ever become standardised LOL  I've seen some lovely little Jack Russels, small (about Norfolk/Norwich sized) short legged, beautifully made :)  but I've also I've seen an awful lot of wierd looking dogs with short Queen Anne legs and quite large bodies, the only thing they have in common with a Jack Russell is that they're mainly white ;)

And then again it would depend on whether their working terrier owners actually want to have them recognised by the KC - after all a number of dogs have changed dramatically after gaining KC status ;)

I dont know much about how getting breeds recognised by the KC works, but...

Given that the Parson Russell Terrier IS now recognised, id be surprised if the Jack Russell will be, certainly not until it is standardised, and i think unlikely under that name.

The name is used to describe pretty much ANY small terrier, predominantly white with patches of colour and is either a working dog, bred to the owners requirements (which obviously differ all over the country) or is used as a name for the multitudes of terriery mongrels.

The PRT is to my mind, the dog that the Parson John Russell had in mind, a game terrier, distinguishable at a distance, able to follow the hunt on foot rather than being carried by a rider.

So there already IS a recognised version of the JRT.
