Hi Deb

I'll be there Saturday though my dogs won't be (Papillons, wrong breed for that event), I've volunteered to steward and looking foward to it.  Was 2nd steward last year and had a great time in the Border Collie ring, Steward, Judge and Exhibitors were great.

Regards
Joan

Hi Joan,
I wondered if there was going to be anyone there, as had no replies!!
Which breed are you stewarding this year?
As I'm sure you've guessed from my name, I'm showing a G.S.D.,my 2yr old bitch. Going along with friends who are also showing Shepherds, and I think a friend of a friend in our group is showing a Border Collie.

Hi Debbie

Will find out on Saturday morning what ring I shall be in.
One of my friends stewarded in the GSD ring last year, in one of the sheds outside of the main building, when I went to look for her I did look in but I thought I had looked in on a football match.  What an atmosphere round that ring it was electric.  Haven't experienced the GSD ring before but if they are on Saturday I will certainly look in.
Can't be there Sunday I'm off to Selby in Yorkshire for a club champ show with two of my dogs.
Will get time to look you up at the show to say Hello.

Just had a look at your site, absolutely gorgeous paintings by everyone.

Hi Joan,
Yes I can imagine what it was like around the G.S.D. ring (wasn't there last year)....this is why they stick us in shed's outside the main hall!!LOL
I love the atmosphere, but as I'm sure you know, other breeds hate being anywhere near the G.S.D. ring at shows. At breed shows no one is going to complain because we are all 'attracting' our dogs, but I get a buzz from the atmosphere.
Yes G.S.D.'s are on the saturday!
Thanks for visiting the website and for your compliments!
Hope it didn't take too long loading with all the images!
maybe see you saturday! Have a good day stewarding!

Thanks Joan I was pleased you came and introduced yourself, would have come looking for you after my class but was then going into the Beginners Stakes so I'm sorry we couldn't chat more.
Yes I was very pleased with Fizz's placing in her class and was delighted when she went on to win the Beginners Stakes :D

Hi!
What a tiring weekend, it took us 6hours either way to get to Scotland!
Well done with Fizz, as I've just read you got a 2nd in breed and a 1st in stakes. Inka got a 2nd in G.S.D. P.Grad bitch, out of 8 entries.
Joan, what breed were you stewarding?

Well Done Inka and Deb

Hi Deb
Well done with Inka, (I have a visitor (dog) here with that name, same spelling as well), You must be quite fit to show a GSD, you all seem to start running and forget to stop.  Sorry I didn't get round to visiting the GSD ring and say hello.  I had a very enjoyable day in ring 3, with the Samoyeds, BSD's and Lancashire Heelers.  Exhibitors and Judges were very nice and made it a good day, also the other stewards in the ring.  We were fortunate that there was enough people available to allow 2 and even 3 stewards in some rings.

Didn't get finished until just after 3pm.  I was running out of time to have a look round the other rings, had to get home to bath two dogs for a breed club champ show on the Sunday.  Bit of a hectic weekend but I enjoyed it.

Gillian well done in the stakes class with Fizz.

Hi!
I popped into the main hall for a quick nosey at the stalls....it was so calm and quiet compared to our hall!! We had finished in the G.S.D. ring by about 3.00pm and was setting off home by about 3.30pm.
How did you do at your champ show on the sunday?
Deb

Hi Deb

The champ show was one of those shows where you enjoy the company but not really the show, don't know if it was because there were two rings/judges.  Though I have been to shows with two rings before and never not enjoyed it.  Anyway my youngster Summer got a third in her first outing as a Junior, was pleased with her placing and with how she performed, she went a bit shy about judges going over her and started to drop her tail in the ring, but all's back to normal now, and out of a class of 20 in open bitch my other girl Ziggy got to enjoy a walk. LOL
Tought I would save some money and didn't bother taking my dog, the judge had judged him before at a club open show and merely ran her hands over him and then watched what was going on outside the ring when she asked to see him move.

BIS and dog CC went to a dog that has just come in from Japan, he has been shown at 3 shows and got 3 cc's, don't know if this is a record or anything for our breed.  Bitch CC went to the puppy bitch winner, got these results from someone else, we had left before they started judging open dog.  (was getting tired and bored by then) LOL
