Has she been wormed? At 8 weeks of age I would have her to the vets ASAP

If it isn't worms (which is definitely a possibility), has he/she got into something they shouldn't and overeaten? I know whenever I've had pups that have managed to steal food (my youngest Golden for instance managed to break open the food cupboard and stuffed himself) their stomachs blew up the same and they did of course get terrible diarrhoea.

It can also be gases/wind due to having eaten something that disagreed with them.

It can also be normal, some pups are very fat. :)

The big question is how he/she is in herself, if there is any doubt whatsoever see the vet asap.

If in doubt seek the vet.

If the stomach is hard like a drum then go to the vets.  Puppies often gorge themselves on water at this stage. As they are still working out that water is there for when they are thirsty, not its there and should all be drunk. She may of got at a puddle.  Or it could be something she has eaten has not agreed with her. I hope she is feeling better now.

I had the same problem with my pup. He gorges his food and gets full of gas which can become a problem. I soak his food for longer now and put a ball in his bowl. This slows down his eating. It seems to be helping, he's not half as distended as he was.
