Hi, firstly, I have registered but my computer is apparently 'not cookies enabled' so won't log in, very frustrating. Secondly, we originally met this breeder in April, so we have not found a puppy in the two hours since original post!!!! We have known about these pups for months!
Also, I don't believe Field Spaniels are working strain, like any spaniels there are working and shows strains. Just cos they are called 'field' isn't literal!! Surely at one time all gundogs were workers?? Doesn't put people off cockers as pets.
I am finding the info on here helpful however, and think that maybe it is true that a puppy is shaped by its experiences.
I shall just have to decide for myself I guess.
Hi, i dont know anything about the dogs, but i had the same problem when registering, about the cookies. If you open internet explorer, go to the tools menu at the top, then click internet options, then on the privacy setting, slide the rule down slightly, you should then be able to log in. It worked for me anyway, hope it works for you !!!
Hi, the thing with field spaniels is that the working and show strains are pretty much the same, in fact a lot of the working ones do very well in the ring.
Have you decided to go ahead with your field pup? Would love to know what his breeding is/who you are getting him off?
Good luck with whatever breed you go for in the end.

The Field has no real working/show strains. Some people work their dogs and others do not, but even the non-work dogs seem to have a high level of working instinct - its just that their owners may not have the time or inclination to go out shooting. They are a great breed to live with - but also v tiring!
