A number of years ago my parents came into the possesion of a Large Pomeranian, one of the Beckworth breads, from a couple who had him as a puppy but could no longer keep him.
My parents wanted to get him a companion (not for breeding purposes) after a few years but found out the the breeder of his line had passed away and that no one was breeding the large Pomeranian in the UK anymore. In the end they got a Toy Pomeranian or standard size as I believe it is now (from an animal rescue center), but unfortunatly both dogs have gone now but lead very active and happy lives.
Recently I saw someone in the street with a large Pomeranian and my hope was renewed in getting one of these lovable dogs for my parents, but unfortunatly I did not have the chance to ask where she got it from.
I have looked through a number of the sites attached here but can not tell if these are the standard sizes or if any of them are large, so could someone help me and tell me where I might find the larger breed of Pomeranian and also roughly how much a puppy would cost.
Thankyou.
Louisa.

I think you'll probably find that the larger Pom is now called a German Spitz - klein (there's a mittel too :) ) You can find pictures of them in links to owners and breeders if you do a guided search on Champdogs, look in the utility section :) :)
They are delightful dogs :)
Hope this helps

The German Spitz Mittel wopuld basically be a large Pomeranian. In fat when first imported some were registered as Pomeranians, and then the importers wanted them to be registered as Victorian Pomeranin, as it is considered that the Pomeranian is in fact bred down from them.
There is no such thing as toy, standard etc. but occasionally we do get throwbacks to the ones that look more like the original Pomeranian. I remember a few years back we bred two litters that the same people had a pup from, the parents were fairly small, both the boys turned out massive, but their owners loved them :d
I remember the Beckworth line and went to their house many, many years ago, brings back memories!
